We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars
— Oscar Wilde

I have always been a dreamer. Often in school, I was told to take my head out of the clouds because I would get lost in a book and the whole world would dissolve around me. This is still the case today!’

Maria Noonan-McDermott’s practice extends across painting and poetry. Her publications include Art and Poetry books and selected poems published in major anthologies, including the ‘Washing Windows’ series, alongside collaborative and collection based publications.

Visual Anthology

‘Visual Anthology’ was produced in 2019, an equal blend of Artwork and poetry with a few short stories thrown in for good measure..

This was a lovely journey, reminiscing and reflecting on the origins of each painting while also remembering where my inspirations came from in the first place. I invite the reader to step into my intimate world to gain a better insight into the thoughts behind the stories.
